Email Services
COMPASS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS provides numerous email solutions to meet our clients' varying needs. From simple user accounts, corporate mail feeds and even mail server backup services, COMPASS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS can handle the most complex business email requirements. Following is a brief description of each service offered.
Individual Account Program
The easiest and fastest service to implement for corporate customers’ accounts can be ready in hours. Each workstation on your LAN is assigned a user account and password, and the mail server stores email until it is retrieved. Each workstation may use any email program (Netscape, Eudora, Outlook, etc.) to send and receive email. A customer domain name may be used if desired. Administration of user accounts is handled through our customer care center. Often referred to as a "POP" account.
Email Mapping Service
Often companies require messages addressed to company domain name to be forwarded to email accounts elsewhere on the Internet. For example, a field-based sales force with accounts procured on an individual basis with various providers. We can maintain and manage this list for a nominal fee.
Mail Relay Service
Used by corporate clients with their own on-site mail server. We configure our systems to send and receive email to and from the corporate server on site at your location. Server maintenance and administration is the responsibility of the customer. A customer domain name is required to use this service. Customer has complete control of all aspects of their email system.
Mail Server Backup / Spooling
For those companies with an on-site mail server who wish to have their mail "held" in the event of a local failure. We will "hold" incoming mail for the on-site mail server until the issue is resolved. When the on-site mail server comes back on-line, mail is retrieved from us with no loss or bouncing of messages.
On-Site Mail Server
If desired, we can build and install a mail server on-site for the corporate client. An NT or UNIX based system will be designed according to your requirements, and installed on your corporate LAN. We can maintain the server, or your local MIS staff can assume this task. Once installed, your company would subscribe to the Mail Relay Service described above.
Mailing Lists & Auto-Responders
Corporate customers often wish to maintain a mailing list as a way to communicate a message with clients. This type of service can be used to provide special offers, product updates or announcements about your company without the expense of a regular postal mailing. A similar product, the Auto-Responder, is available which will provide automatic responses to customer queries for information. Sophisticated Auto-Responders can be designed to query databases and provide customer specific responses.
